• Henry was just playing in a cave with  his cousin and they were looking for gold and then the rocks. The top of the cave collapsed on top of Henry. And he  nearly died because he wasn't moving at all.

• Henry felt good about enlisting so he didn't feel forced to go to the war. And he enlisted two week's before all men to the war, men 18 years up were only allowed to go. And  Henry's cousin  felt annoyed with Henry.

• Henry thought that war wasn't just learning how to use guns. And then Henry got the war grounds and Henry felt like he was going to die.

Mahi Tahi

Mahi Tahi is a time when the 3 senior classes come together .And we get into groups from sticks.

Today in Mahi Tahi  we were taste testing and we were Blind folded! There were so many crazy foods like: icing sugar,golden syrup,cocoa powder,salt,marmite,and mustard.

Sandra Silberzweig

We have been doing some art and we watched a video first. The artists name is Sandra Silberzweig. 

The video was about how to do the art and the designs. Step one we had to draw a dot in the middle of the picture and then put a line to the top of the page. We used pencil first and then we did a nose, eyes and mouth. The eyes didn't have to be aligned with each other. The outlines were painted with Indian Ink and we used chalk pastels for the colour. We learnt about cool and warm colours.

moment in time

I heard people crying because they were scared because high up in the high up mountain.

I saw people  worrying that they would  fall off the mountain.

I felt like my bag was banging on my back. because of my school work in my bag. the path was rocky.

I wondered if I was going to die today because the path was so unstable.

we created an animation to share a message about an environmental issue in the world and give people some ideas on how to help . I chose to make mine about Plastic waste  because people need to stop littering 

Tidy numbers

I have been learning how to do tidy numbers.  Tidy numbers is a maths strategy to use a number line to solve equations. This is how I solved the equation. 

71 + _____ = 103

I jumped to 80 because that is the nearest tidy number. That is + 9
Then I jumped to 90.  That is + 10
Then I jumped to 100.  That is + 10
Then I jumped to 103.  That is + 3

They add to 32.  So the equation is 71 + 32 = 103
